Sir Allan C. Fields KCMG
Sir Allan Fields is the chairman of Cable & Wireless (Barbados) Ltd and Tower Hill Merchants Plc (UK).
Sir Allan returned to Barbados in 1966 after studying mechanical engineering in Glasgow Scotland. He worked at the Barbados Light & Power until 1978. He then joined Lucas Industries Barbados’ operations (Tropical Battery Co.) as Managing Director. This company was subsequently taken over by Neal & Massy in the 80’s.
He then joined the then Banks (Barbados) Breweries Ltd. as Managing Director in 1988. He was appointed Chairman in 1999 when he resigned to take up the post of Managing Director of BS&T. He was appointed Chairman of BS&T in 2004. He was Barbados’ Ambassador to The Peoples Republic of China and an independent Senator in the Parliament of Barbados from 2003 until 2008.
He is Past President of The Master Brewers Association of the Americas and a founding member of the Caribbean Brewers Association. He is Past President of The Barbados Manufactures Association and the Barbados Employers’ Confederation. He was awarded a Knighthood by Queen Elizabeth in 2005.
Sir Allan serves on many Boards in Barbados, including the First Caribbean International Bank, the Barbados Employers Confederation and the Y.M.C.A. He is also Past President of the Private Sector Organization.
Sir Allan is a Board member of the Commonwealth Business Council based in the U.K. He is Executive Chairman of Mark Anthony International SRL. He is married and has 2 children.
Mr. Markus Gumpfer serves as Head of Divisional Risk Officer of SIX Securities Services and is a Member of the Management Committee since beginning 2015.
Previously he served as Chief Operating Officer of FRM (Man Group plc) and Chief Risk Officer of Man Investments (CH) AG. He was also an Executive Committee member of FRM and has been with Man Group for more than 13 years. Prior to these positions, he was Head of Business and Operational Solutions, Global Change Manager and Global joint-head of Operations in Europe and Bahamas after having built and run Operations Pfäffikon, London and Bahamas for more than 6 years.
. In addition to that, Markus served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Man Capital Markets AG for many years and was on the Management Board of Man Investments (CH) AG.
Prior to joining Man in 2001, he was a business consultant for risk and portfolio management systems at Systor and he worked for Bank J. Vontobel in 1998 as an Assistant Market Risk Controller and provisionally headed the market & counterparty risk control, the asset & liability management team and was the compliance officer in their investment banking division. He started his career at Credit Suisse in 1986 where he spent 11 years in total on the trading floor, Middle Office and Internal Audit.
He was a member of the Swiss Association of Independent Securities Dealers board and was a tutor at the University of Liechtenstein for many years. Markus completed a business apprenticeship, he earned a degree in economics from the University of Applied Sciences (HWV) in Zurich, is a CFA and CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) charterholder and accomplished his eMBA at IMD in Lausanne in 2013.
